About the Course:
The Department of Biochemistry, post graduate program was started in the year 2003. under the affiliation of Bangalore University. The Department has well equipped laboratories, advanced research facilities, sophisticated services and computing and networking capabilities. The Department does exceedingly well in the fields of higher education, research and industrial consultancy. Strong expertise exists among the highly qualified faculty on both theoretical and experimental methods of research.
The students are encouraged to understand the basics through extensive practical classes. The industrial visits and internships are arranged to allow the students to gain insight into the application of the subject in the industry. The students are also assisted in applying for DBT, DST sponsored projects. As well as assistance is given in preparation for JRF exams.
The academic programmes are based on the choice-based credit system as per UGC regulations. Each Programme comprises several cores, elective courses, field visit and project work.

Eligibility :
- B.Sc. with any Life Science subject securing 50% marks in all the three optional subjected in aggregate from recognizes institution/university
- B.Sc., Biochemistry/B.Sc., Biochemistry (integrated) with 50% marks in aggregate.
- B.Sc., (Honours) in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology or Biology with 50% marks in aggregate.
